Students send boxes of cheer (12/12/2008)

With Christmas approaching and our troops still fighting the war in Afghanistan, students studying for the National Diploma in Uniformed Services have raised over £70 between them to send parcels to ex-students serving with the 42 Commandos in the Royal Marines.
The students have filled shoe boxes with sweets, toiletries and magazines hoping to bring some cheer to the soldiers that will be missing their families over the festive period. Lee Mallott, Progamme Manager for their course said “It demonstrates comradeship between our students and the current members of the Armed Services and is important that we retain that link.”
