Forging strong links across Europe has resulted in an International School Award (ISA) for the College of West Anglia. The college has been working hard on the project with counterparts in France, Holland and Germany and the ISA has been made in recognition of the success of these initiatives. In order to qualify for the ISA the college had to demonstrate an international dimension to learning by introducing a global context across various departments involving four other colleges in the three European countries.

“We are delighted to have achieved this recognition and it represents a lot of hard work by all those involved in the project which has seen CWA share best practice and experience with our colleagues in mainland Europe,” said Tom Griffiths, European coordinator at CWA.

The work has included extending an ethos of internationalism in the curriculum around a number of vocational areas which allows students and staff to gain invaluable insights into wider skills and cultural activities. The work promotes future cooperation and improves future pan-European employment. The ISA is widely recognised and the only other college within the college’s partnership to receive similar recognition is The Heinrich-hertz-Europakolleg in Bonn, Germany.
