The BGA Student Glove Design Competition has now been running since 1975 and is organised by the British Glove Association in collaboration with the Worshipful Company of Glovers. Its purpose is to encourage students to create practical yet original glove designs. The judges also look for designs that show a commercial aspect in respect of areas such as ease of manufacture and ability to sell.
The students work will be on display as part of the Art and Design Exhibition at the Isle Campus, ‘If The Hat Fits’ which runs from the 16 - 20 June (from 10 am to 4 pm weekdays 10 am to 2pm on Saturday 20 June). Admission to the Exhibition is free and open to everyone. Garments that Samantha and Rachel have designed will be on show on the catwalk, together with other designers.
