Graduation 2008! (27/09/2008)
The 7th Annual College of West Anglia Graduation Ceremony was held on Saturday 27th September 2008 and saw nearly 200 students graduate. The day started with a procession from King’s Lynn Town Hall travelling through High Street, Norfolk Street, Chapel Street and finally to St Nicholas Chapel at 12:30pm. The procession included His Worshipfulness The Mayor, The Mayoress, Staff, Sword and 4 Mace Bearers, Professor Helen Valentine, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Anglia Ruskin University, David Pomfret (Principal), members of senior management and academic staff from The College.
At the same time the graduates made their way in to the chapel and were seated. The ceremony started after the procession arrived at the chapel. Professor Helen Valentine, Vice-chancellor of Anglia Ruskin University was guest of honour and gave a speech to start the proceedings. All the graduates were then in turn presented with their certificates. 85 of the students were graduating in Teacher Training Qualifications, 11 in care and childcare, 31 in Humanities and science, 41 in Business and Management, 24 in Technology and 22 in Arts.
After the ceremony the graduates and the friends and families continued the celebration with a glass of wine and a buffet at the corn exchange. In the evening graduates, with their friends and families came back to a beautifully decorated corn exchange for their ball.
