Student of the Year Award (06/07/2009)
The College of West Anglia, Wisbech Campus awarded Jessica Moore the prestigious Student of the Year Award. This award spans the entire 4 campuses of the College and was awarded to a year 10 student on the PLO programme (Practical Learning Opportunities). Jessica was presented with her award by Bill Collinson, Head of Land based faculty at the Wisbech Campus in front of her student colleagues, family and staff in recognition of her hard work and achievements:
Student of the Year Award - Jessica Moore from Magdalen, King’s Lynn.
Jessica, a year 10 student, came to the college last September from the Roseberry Centre in King’s Lynn. From a disillusioned and shy young lady she has developed into an excellent student showing enthusiasm and determination in her studies. Jessica has completed all her work to the highest level achievable, all in the space of a year. Jessica is now looking to move onto an E2E programme (Entry to Employment) at King’s Lynn Campus and then hopefully will return to the Wisbech Campus on a full-time Animal Care course.
Janis Charles, Animal Care Tutor said, “This is the first time the Student of the Year award has been given to a yr 10 student. The PLO programme and the Introductory Certificate in Land and Environment - Equine is usually a 2 year programme but Jessica completed the entire programme in only a year through hard work and perseverance. She is an excellent student and we look forward to her return on a full-time Animal Care course.”
