Case Study - Ikon Fashions
Ikon Fashions in King’s Lynn work with The College of West Anglia to enable their staff to complete the apprenticeship programme in retail.
One member of staff, Emma Davies, who has just completed her retail apprenticeship programme had this to say:” The programme allowed me to get first-hand experience of the retail industry whilst learning the theory side at the same time. I particularly enjoyed learning about how to maximise the visual displays and the merchandising. The course was completely delivered in the workplace so I didn’t have to take any time out at all to attend college; instead, I had a tutor come to see me once every two weeks at the shop.”
Manager, Andrew Wilson, said: “We currently have another apprentice with the college and we have taken Emma on as a permanent member of staff now that she has completed her programme. We will be looking to take on more apprentices in the future. We pride ourselves in providing a learning environment for all staff to show them and everyone else that retail is a serious job option for people who want to better themselves and climb the management ladder”.
