Case Study - Hannah Welsch
Hannah applied to do an apprenticeship at the College of West Anglia as she has always been interested in working with children: “I was very pleased to be accepted onto the course as it took me some time to find a job; however, this gave me the opportunity to continue my studies and once I started the course I thoroughly enjoyed my time”.
“The best thing about coming to the college was the fantastic teachers, who were there to help and support me throughout my time there. I really enjoyed coming to college and looked forward to learning and improving my knowledge in childcare”.
Hannah has completed an advanced apprenticeship in childcare and is currently working at the Gateway Children’s Centre in Fakenham. She is now studying for a foundation degree in childcare at the college and hopes to go on to become a teacher.
Hannah would recommend an apprenticeship to anyone thinking of coming to college: “Don’t give up, persevere and it will all be worth it. It took me a few months to find a job in childcare but I stuck at it and finally was offered a job I really enjoy”.
