DON’T MISS: NCS April Offer!
NCS Summer Wave – £25 if booked before the end of April.
Young people in West Norfolk are being encouraged to do something different this summer, with the National Citizen Service.
Follow in the footsteps of over 70 young people from the region who experienced the government-supported enrichment scheme, this Easter holiday.
Last week, the teenagers set off for Manor Adventure, in Lyng, where they took part in a variety of outdoor activities including: kayaking, canoeing, high ropes, crate stacking, raft building, paddle-boarding, climbing, fencing, caving and archery. The visit went so well that the NCS October ½ term group plan to go back.
As this is a programme which encourages community cohesion and volunteering, staff also arranged a community fair allowing the young people a chance to talk with local groups and charitable organisations – such as Bridge for Heroes and The Benjamin Foundation – about the fantastic work they do. The group are now in the midst of completing their own social action projects to raise money for a chosen charity.
At a special offer of just £25 (book before the end of April – usual price £50), young people in King’s Lynn and West Norfolk can join the summer wave of NCS East. They will get five days at an outdoor centre, similar to the above, followed by a further five days at the University of Nottingham with accommodation and food included! For the final five days, the group will return to King’s Lynn to work on community social action projects at the College of West Anglia.
If you’re 15 to 17 years-old, this is your chance to embark on exhilarating challenges, make your mark and build skills for work and life.
