Have a Go Days

Our Have a Go days are for anyone aged 15 or over. Covering equine, agriculture and animal management, the sessions give you a taste of your chosen potential course and career and are designed to help you decide if it’s for you.

The sessions run from 10am to 2pm during half term on Tuesday 24th October 2017.

Simply have a look at what you’d like to have a go at from the list below, and then register for a place by using the ‘book now’ link. Places for each session are limited, and count down in real time as we receive bookings, so don’t delay – book now!

Agriculture

You will have a tour of the Woodside farm area, be able to meet the livestock & take part in practical agricultural activities.
You will need to wear suitable clothing and will be required to wear steel toe-capped boots; please register your shoesize when booking if you wish to borrow a pair.

Animal management

Get some practical experience of animal care duties including feeding and cleaning out.

You will need to wear suitable clothing and will be required to wear steel toe-capped boots; please register your shoesize when booking if you wish to borrow a pair.

Equine

You will have the opportunity to have a go on the equine simulator and a take part in a horse anatomy activity.

You will need to wear suitable clothing for an outdoor environment. If you have jodhpurs/yard boots then you are welcome to wear them Other suitable closed footwear includes walking boots, wellies or study boots (no flip-flops, sandals, trainers, etc.).Please dress warmly with a weatherproof jacket if it is likely to be cold or wet weather.
If you do own your own riding hat and gloves then you are welcome to bring them with you. Riding hats for riding the simulator will be provided if you do not have your own.
