Important Notice

The College will be completing essential capital works that are required to the stable yard over the summer which will reduce number of stables and subsequent horse provision.

Unfortunately this means we will not be continuing commercial activities including Riding Lessons, Clinics, Side Saddle Lessons, Pony Club, Escorted Hacks, Dressage Simulator Lessons, Stable Management & Coaching Lessons, BHS Training, Facility Hires, Horse & Pony Experiences and Cambridge Vaulting Club activities based at The College from the 31st July.

Other services are running as normal: Equine Therapy Centre, Livery and Clipping Services. Please see below.

The College of West Anglia's Equestrian Centre, housed at our Cambridge campus, is home to a wide variety of facilities including a 30-stable yard, a 30m x 60m Charles Britton outdoor arena, a 20m x 40m indoor arena and our Equine Therapy Centre.

Our Equestrian Centre is a BHS Highly Commended examination centre, Approved Riding Establishment and Approved Training Centre. We are also affiliated to various equestrian governing bodies including British Dressage, British Show Jumping, the Pony Club, National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) and British Equestrian Vaulting (BEV).

Bookings for the CWA Equine Therapy Centre can still be taken on weekdays between 11:00am - 15:00pm.

 
 

Our Equestrian Centre offers a range of schooling, working livery and loan options. These custom packages are designed to suit a range of horses and owners. Owners can feel confident that their horses will receive top quality care from qualified and experienced staff, whilst enjoying excellent facilities.

Some of the benefits of livery at CWA include:

  • A 30m x 60m floodlit Charles Britton outdoor arena and a 20m x 40m Equestrian Surfaces indoor arena, both with seating areas, as well as a full course of show jumps, dressage boards and some cross country fences
  • A secure site with staff onsite 24hrs per day in addition to mobile security
  • Experienced instructors offering evening lessons up to 8pm on week days

  • Opportunities to compete without the use of transport
  • Onsite Equine Therapy Centre which can be used to complement the horse’s workload by fattening, conditioning and strengthening

Please note: We will not trim whiskers unless requested. Traditionally; Bib, Apron, Strip, Irish, Low Trace and Medium Trace clips have the face left on. High Trace and Blanket clips have half the face taken off. High Irish, Chaser, Hunter and Full clips have the full face taken off.

All prices are subject to change depending on the condition of your horses coat and behaviour whilst clipping; clips that take longer than average to complete may incur an extra charge.
